Glad we stopped by! Came in for breakfast with the crew after a night of heavy drinking. As tempting as the breakfast burrito was, I knew I wouldn't even get through half of it! I settled on a basic breakfast & LOTS of water & coffee. Her bacon & sausage is FANTASTIC! The service was a bit slow but I didn't hold it against Myra. She was so personable! I really liked that her restaurant was also her home. We travel for a living, so anything that comes close to "home cooked" is greatly appreciated!

I dont even want to write this review as it is going to make me recall my visit here... I'll keep it simple.. this may have been the least clean place I have ever eaten. The waitress was disinterested and on her cell phone yelling most of the time. Fist $3 bottle of soda and dirty glasses to pour it in.. refill? no! lol The "pancakes" seemed like they were made of corn meal and had been deep fried in motor oil..but "thats ok" the waitress said "she just cooked them on the dirty side of the grill" I would hate to see the "clean side of the grill" lmao My burrito was gross, mostly under cooked potatoes and onions, maybe a piece of bacon and some thin green "chili" too bad they dont have sour cream.... what? a place that serves different kinds of burritos and has no sour cream...the waitress told us this like it was policy rather than shortage... very odd all the way around.. a $40.00 breakfast ..?...or a $40 lesson that when all signs point to nasty..just get up and run!!

Get your Canadian on, Being a Canadian Transplant to Colorado it was nice to have a little taste of home... im sure if i had asked they would have broken out the KD or Poutine. We discovered this little slice of home on our way back from skiing and its become our go to spot whenever we're on the road to toe slopes. the food is handmade so it takes a little longer but is worth the wait you want it fast go to mcdonalds or a chain. you want to feel like you stopped in to see family and be treated like family come to Jiggie's... and to the cook, yes I remembered your Crunchie bars and will drop them off next time we pass through

One star is more than deserved. Food was AWFUL. The cook came over and asked "how was the breakfast". I answered "it was alright" trying to be polite. The old woman blurted out "just alright". Well, you asked. I told her the eggs were cooked wrong. My husbands 'fluffy' omelet was flat, hard and chewy...so much for fluffy. She huffed away saying I should have said something. So rude. There also was some tall guy - loud, joking going behind the counter then serving himself. So annoying. Only Instant decaf coffee. Dirty, dirty place. Please go elsewhere.

We pulled into town for the first time, cruised the strip looking for food and found the big places all full up. I recalled passing Jiggie's so we went back. It is a very small, funky, no-frills kind of place but it didn't look so bad so we had breakfast. The place was about three-quarters full and everyone looked satisfied and happy and when our plain and simple egg sandwiches arrived we started eating and then started wondering how a plain ol' fried egg sandwich could be so good. The service was friendly and fast, the waitresses were attentive to everyone's needs and the food was simply great. That's what we were looking for and we'll stop here again next time we pass by.

Update: Been in a few times now - great burger when the woman who appears to own the place cooks it - other times, not so good. The guy that jokes endlessly needs to understand that sometimes people just want a quiet lunch. One star knocked off for those reasons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After 8+ years of living in the area I finally got up the nerve to roll into Jiggies. Here is what I found -- an absolutely outstanding hamburger -perfectly cooked on a very hot grill, very fresh and flavorful hand formed patty, which i think was probably 1/2 pound. Perfectly toasted bun, fresh tomato and lettuce, and hand cut, skin on fries- cooked to perfection in obviously very clean oil. The ambiance is old school diner - a bit grungy, but I wouldn't say it's dirty. I am really looking forward to the next trip. The best burger i have had in a long, long time. Contrary to another review, they accepted my credit card.

Peculiar dive diner run by and obviously decorated by a grumpy old broad with a snide sense of confrontational humor and the speed of a badly injured sloth. We were here mid day on a Friday and it was lonely, save for the two other super old oxygen enhanced late phase octogenarians who looked to be partners in the business. It took three of them to work the credit card slider. The food was all done to order by hand, at the pace it takes to create petrified wood. My wife's minuscule roast beef sandwich looked like a miniature for a doll house, while my hand formed burger patty was big enough to feed the lighting crew for Kid Rock. Weird. Oddly, the hand cut fries looked delicious but had the bland taste of boiled cotton. Look, I love local spots, its why I came here. I might even come back for the macabre show of watching these ladies move like constipated yaks. And my burger was really good. But nobody gettin' jiggy at jiggies. Hah na na na nana

Adorable little cafe; family run, from the cashier to the server to the cook. Standard diner food, but excellent quality. Blueberry pancakes had tons of berries, great bacon, good coffee. Cute license plate/Coke/Canadian decor. Great service. A little pricey, but I'm not complaining :)

My friend and I were driving from Durango and decided to stop by in Idaho Springs for some coffee on our way to Denver. Oddly, most coffee shops were closed and we stumbled upon this forsaken place. While my friend was using the bathroom-I was checking out the menu. The menu was old and disgusting and quite dirty. When my friend came out-we decided to leave. As we were walking out the door, the owner screams out in front of her customers, " Excuse me, you are just going to piss in my bathroom and leave?" I told her that we are just going to get some coffee and no food right now and I wished her a good day, to which she responded, " Well, you can piss off!!" I have never been treated this badly for looking over someone's menu and choosing to go someplace else. When the owner has no customer service skills-this is very bad...Although, I cannot speak for the food they make there, I can tell this place is NOT worth your time. Go somewhere else where you are respected, as I will never go back there again.

It is a small hole in the wall but so worth it. It's run by a grandmother figure and she will treat you that way. You are in her place, so behave. Lol. She's great. The food is simple but there is alot and it is all homemade. It looks a bit run down but don't let that stop you. You will be wanting to come back for more.

Really disappointed. Came in at 8:30 on a weekday morning, and was the only customer. "What do you want to drink?" "Decaf, please." "It's instant." "OK. Regular, please." Later: "Have you decided? "Biscuits and gravy with poached eggs, please." "She's not making that unless we're busy." Went with eggs, sausage, toast. Tasty, if unexceptional. Another guy comes in, sits down, orders the red chili. "Sorry. Only the green." As for the rude thing... I'd describe it as disinterested and not really hostile. But that's not my gig either. No surprise it was empty. I see there are places with a decent crowd down the street, and will give those a try.

I really enjoy going here every once in a while. Yes it's a greasy spoon hole in the wall, but that's the charm of the place and I think the food is great for what it is - the biker looking guy running the place usually gives you a good natured ribbing as well, so just be ready and have fun with it.

Your dream diner. Liscence plates on the wall, handmade dolls everywhere, and framed puzzles over your table. Cash only. We tried Jiggies since Aimee's Cafe down the street was closed, and are we happy for it. On our way to the mountains, we needed some hearty home cooking. Potatoes, eggs with ham, sour dough toast, real OJ. Everything from pancake wrapped sausage to 2 lb. breakfast burritos and biscuits and sausage gravy (although we went on a slow Monday so they didn't have biscuits). Food served in minutes and freshly made. You can hear her cracking the eggs from the kitchen. Definitely worth a stop on the way to or from the mountains.

I make the drive from Denver to Idaho Springs just for Jiggie's breakfast burrito with green chile. No joke. The woman here who makes the green chile should be given an award (or a crown) because it is by far, hands down, the VERY BEST green chile EVER anywhere. Oh my god. I would give anything for her recipe. It's absurdly good and it's different than many other green chiles. The breakfast burrito itself is also fantastic, not to mention absolutely enormous, but the green chile makes it to die for. Jiggie's Cafe has tons of character from the torn up (and duct taped) school bus booth seats to the walls covered in license plates to the collection of Coca Cola memorabilia, but the people who work here are by far where the most character is to be found. I love Jiggie's Cafe and am so grateful I went with my gut and decided to stop in here one day when passing through Idaho Springs. It's on my regular list of must go places when people come to town to visit now too. If they would bottle and sell the green chile it would help me get through between visits. ;-)

Lets face it, breakfast is generally easy to make and make it good. It's good here and the green chili is better than decent. I had the breakfast burrito and it was huge. The place is a dive and has atmosphere for sure. The "rudeness" is part of shtick as the staff is actually very friendly. Am I gonna do back flips about this place? Negative. But I'll be back some day.

As a family, we tried to order from the menu, the items that were on the menu; however, our server told us that those items are not available, that actually, there were no such items! Well, rolling with it, we ordered what we could ~ no kids burgers! We received some average burgers. We were really shocked when we got the bill! I can see eating at a "Hole in the wall", for a "hole in the wall" price; however, when another server came by and gave us our bill we were shocked! The prices were for that of a 5 star restaurant (no where near what the menu purports) + we had many 'add ons'. We did confront her on this and she knocked it down by $2.50: not much! We felt ripped off and unsatisfied with the food. Maybe you have to be Canadian to get good service!

Great old time cafe in Idaho Springs. My burger was large and delicious. The fries were fresh cut and the staff was very casual. We will be eating there every time we get out to that area.

Jiggy's is a definite OLD TIME Cafe. If you are looking for sweet hospitality..and fine decor and dining don't go to Jiggy's. .The waiter (owner) is not the least bit polite..and it seems to work for him /them..The place was packed. All patrons were interacting..and giving some fun sarcasm back to the waiter.. It was all done in good fun. Food was excellent, large portions. The Burgers are 1/2 lb and fresh cut potato fries. They also serve HUGE breakfast burritos..and Green Chili w/ Pork. The service is quick..Go in with an open mind and have fun.. PS. Don't be surprised if the server tells you to get up and refill your own cup of coffee.. ENJOY!
